Job summary

JBT Marel is looking for an engineer to install autonomous vehicles and related hardware, test and validate systems, and travel extensively to customer sites. You will modify equipment, troubleshoot components, and provide training while collaborating with other engineers on projects.

The role requires engineering education, 2+ years experience, and strong software skills (C/C++, MATLAB, Python). Located near Chalfont, PA or Detroit, MI with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• BS or BSET in Engineering.
• 2+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in C, C++, MATLAB, Python; Visual Basic preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Candidates should reside in or near Detroit, MI or Chalfont, PA; other locations considered.
• Hourly range is $40.00 - $45.00; starting salary varies by location and experience.

Responsibilities

• Install autonomous vehicles and peripheral equipment (chargers, I/O panels, operator interfaces, etc.).
• Perform system testing, debugging, and validation for optimal performance.
• Travel 60-75% domestically and internationally to customer sites.
• Modify equipment and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical and software improvement opportunities.
• Make software and hardware adjustments.
• Monitor system performance metrics.
• Perform customer training.
• Interface with customers.
• Collaborate with other engineers on projects.
