The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks newly graduating engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and scientists to tackle autonomous systems challenges in guidance, navigation, and control, modeling and simulation, and hardware/software development.

Join a team collaborating with government sponsors to craft novel algorithms, test embedded software, perform multi-disciplinary design optimization, and contribute to full lifecycle development of advanced system concepts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant engineering/sciences fields.
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, C++, Python or other languages.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret security clearance by start date and eventual Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Pioneer design and research in guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for full lifecycle development of advanced systems.
  • Develop models for simulating complex physics and sensors.
  • Test software and algorithms within an embedded systems environment.
  • Apply multi-disciplinary optimization to early phase vehicle designs.
  • Develop software to support simulation and algorithm development.
  • Collaborate with engineers and government sponsors.
