Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for Vehicle Operations (Starshield) to develop reliable flight software and dashboards for the Starshield constellation. You’ll monitor on-orbit performance, diagnose issues, and contribute to autonomous fault handling.

A strong systems intuition and software discipline are essential. Experience across C/C++, Python, Linux, and software interacting with hardware is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, physics or another engineering discipline.
• Software development experience in C, C++, Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement highly reliable software, flight software, simulations, tools and dashboards.
• Lead on-orbit operations through all flight phases; support cradle-to-grave development of new features.
• Monitor constellation performance, investigate anomalies, and implement autonomous recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, test, guidance, network engineering to deliver reliable connectivity.
