Job summary

Front Door Defense is seeking a Software Engineer for Vehicle Operations in Hawthorne, CA. You will develop autonomous satellite operation software to ensure Starshield constellation reliability during on-orbit operations.

This role involves writing reliable algorithms and software, leading satellite operations, and working with a team of diverse engineers. Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Python, and a background in computer science or aerospace engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field.
• Software development experience in C, C++, Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms, flight software, and simulations.
• Lead satellite operations through all phases of flight.
• Detect and triage on-orbit anomalies and lead investigations.

Skills

Software development in C, C++, Python

Ability to intuit about physical systems

Experience in Linux environment

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or physics
