Job summary

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) at Sanford Health is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients in outpatient settings, coordinating care with the health care team and educating patients.

Works with inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate care, demonstrates nursing competence, and maintains licensure, certifications, and department-specific competencies as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure if in an NLC state; maintains required department licensure and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care, patient assessment, and education in outpatient settings in cooperation with the health care team.
• Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to plan, implement and evaluate outpatient care.
• Demonstrates competency and adheres to Nurse Practice Act and department standards.
• Maintain licensure, competencies, and certifications as required.
