Job summary

Banner Health/Sonora Quest Laboratories in Phoenix seeks a knowledgeable laboratory technician with strong chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis testing experience to join our north Phoenix lab. The role will work afternoons and evenings and may float to other metro labs, operating autonomously.

The position emphasizes adherence to CLIA ’88 and regulatory requirements, with duties including specimen collection/receipt, processing, and performing waived and non-waived tests under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science; transcripts reviewed for eligibility.
• Equivalent training and experience per CLIA 42CFR493.1489/1491 or related criteria.
• MLT certification preferred (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB).
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and non-waived tests as defined by CLIA ’88.
• Assist with compliance with accrediting/regulatory requirements (CLIA, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA).
• May collect, receive, and process biological specimens into the lab.
