Job summary

Volarify in Lansing, MI is seeking an Intermediate Carpenter to support commercial restoration and reconstruction projects. The role requires extensive carpentry experience and the ability to work with minimal supervision, assisting with scope development alongside estimators and running projects autonomously.

You will progress from residential to commercial work, lead and self-perform emergency services, and expand knowledge of framing, cabinetry, trim, insulation, and siding while meeting

Qualifications

• Experience in residential and commercial carpentry.
• Ability to lead and train junior carpenters.
• Capable of independent project execution.

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential problems and request guidance.
• Answer project questions and direct complex queries to the right resource.
• Move and protect contents without damage.
• Contain construction dust and contaminants in the working area.
• Perform tasks related to flood cutting, salvaging, and labeling baseboards, cabinets, doors.
• Attend and successfully complete shrink-wrap training and complete 4 projects containing shrink wrap.
• Develop the ability to identify different types of insulation, their thickness, and their respective R-value.
• Apply learned skills and materials knowledge relative to trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, rough framing, acoustical ceilings, roofing materials, and exterior siding to daily tasks.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain vehicles in clean, serviceable condition.
• Maintain attention to detail.
• Meet Our Client standards in safeguarding other people's property.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
• Work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically.
• Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately.
• Attend Our Client-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
