Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, seeks an R&D Aerospace Engineer to collaborate on autonomous flight system technologies from concept to flight demos. You will work on hypersonic mission-focused projects, maturing sensing, planning, hardware testing, and analyses for PNT resiliency and Alt-PNT concepts.

Applicants should have a strong background in aerospace engineering, programming (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++), and experience with simulation and flight systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with demonstrated ability to perform independent R&D.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
  • Graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and technologists to develop autonomous flight system technologies from concept to flight.
  • Develop autonomous flight solutions and algorithms for full flight vehicle demonstrations.
  • Create, implement, and lead projects applying PNT resiliency to high-consequence missions.
  • Work in teams with the potential for security classification of components.
