Job summary

Skydio is seeking an embedded software engineer to architect, build and lead firmware for our autonomous drones in a fast-paced, hardware-rich environment. You will shape current and future products, bridging algorithms with sensors and mechanics to create robust software foundations.

Responsibilities include writing modern C++ for real-time embedded systems, creating drivers for sensors, bring-up and debugging hardware, and optimizing low-level firmware.

Qualifications

• Experience writing firmware for embedded devices.
• Ability to write clean, well-abstracted code.
• Experience with embedded Linux userspace and kernel development.
• Knowledge of sensor integration and hardware bring-up.
• FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days encouraged for all employees.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead firmware for autonomous drones.
• Design interfaces/drivers for sensors.
• Bring up and debug new hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams.
• Define and enforce robust software foundations.
