Motional AD Inc. on our Motion team is seeking engineers to advance trajectory optimization and motion planning for production-ready autonomous vehicles.

You will contribute to safe and comfortable vehicle behaviors, mentor teammates, and work with ML decision/behavior planning, prediction, and vehicle control teams. The role blends research and product development, with opportunities to design, implement, test, and review high-quality C++ code in a modern toolchain, including simulation and CI,

Qualifications

• 0-3+ years of C++ software development (educational experience counts).
• Experience with MPC, motion planning, planning under uncertainty, vehicle dynamics and control.
• Knowledge of optimization algorithms and solvers (IPOPT, Gurobi) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art trajectory optimization algorithms for safe, comfortable vehicle motion.
• Build robust, scalable software enabling real on-road impact and evaluate control techniques and planning algorithms.
• Provide high-quality code and design reviews for the team.
