Job summary

Gatik is seeking ML engineers to own and contribute to a multi-modal behavior prediction system for its autonomous middle-mile fleet. This onsite role in Santa Clara, CA focuses on building modules that predict movements of surrounding objects to improve vehicle decisions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 3+ years of industry experience or Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong experience with machine learning, particularly in the context of behavior prediction for autonomous driving.
• Familiarity with machine learning models such as LSTM, Transformer, and other relevant architectures.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with large-scale data processing and cloud computing platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous experience in autonomous driving or robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop key modules of the behavior prediction system to enhance autonomous vehicle decision making.
• Create and maintain software infrastructure for large-scale image and LiDAR data processing.
• Design and optimize data preprocessing, model training, and inference pipelines.
• Train and evaluate behavior prediction models (LSTM, Transformer, etc.) and address bottlenecks.
• Build scalable training/evaluation tools to support rapid iteration.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate behavior prediction into the driving stack and test extensively.
