Job summary

Isuzu North America is seeking a highly motivated Autonomous Driving Intern for Summer 2026 in Plymouth, MI. This role supports the ITCA advanced engineering team in the development of Level 4 autonomous driving technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or related fields, with hands-on experience in robotics and autonomous driving. Responsibilities include monitoring testing results, reviewing code changes, and assisting with system integration.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in autonomous driving algorithm development across perception, planning, and control.
  • Prior industry experience in robotics or autonomous driving is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze autonomous vehicle testing results and identify root causes of disengagements.
  • Review pull requests and perform code-level assessments for performance impacts.
  • Track and document daily technical progress with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Assist with system integration and validation of autonomous driving features.

Skills

Proficiency in programming languages: C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
Proficiency in robotics-related software: ROS, ROS2, PyTorch, Carla, OpenCV, Autoware, YOLO
Proficiency in project & issue tracking tool: JIRA, Confluence
Proficiency in version control management tool: GitHub

Education

Master’s degree or above in Robotics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, or related fields
Candidates must have a GPA of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale
