Job summary

Bot Auto in San Francisco is seeking a talented ML Engineer to join our autonomous trucking team. You will design, train, and optimize deep learning models for perception, mapping, and planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams to push state-of-the-art in autonomous driving.

You have strong foundations in ML/DL, hands-on experience with PyTorch and Python, and a track record of delivering reliable models.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in CS, robotics, EE, applied math, physics, or related field.
• Hands-on training of neural networks; completed projects or internships count.
• Strong ML and DL foundation with knowledge of modern architectures (Transformers, CNNs, Graphs).
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Self-motivated, analytical, fast learner, and team player in a fast-paced startup.

Responsibilities

• Model Implementation & Iteration: Develop, train, and optimize DL models for autonomous driving (perception, mapping, planning).
• Full Lifecycle Execution: Manage data curation, analysis, experiments, tuning, and metric verification.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with simulation, infra, and planning teams to deploy ML components into production.
• Literature Tracking: Monitor CV and generative AI research; bench-test SOTA methods for real-world edge cases.
