Job summary

Gatik in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Drive-By-Wire team to build and improve chassis control software for ECU hardware.

You will create functionally safe software, design toolchains for model-based applications, and collaborate with software, hardware and systems engineers to enable robust validation, testing, and deployment of Level 4 autonomous technology. This onsite role offers a fast-moving, execution-focused environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in automotive engineering, computer engineering, electronics/electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in embedded automotive systems (ADAS/AD or chassis controls).
• Experience with ISO26262, MISRA-C, AUTOSAR or similar standards.
• Experience creating automated software generation toolchains.
• Proficiency in C programming and Simulink-based modeling (MATLAB).
• Familiar with CAN networks (J1939, CAN FD) and automotive Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve chassis controls software for ECU hardware integration.
• Develop functionally safe software following automotive standards.
• Design toolchains for model-based application software on ECU firmware.
• Collaborate with requirements engineers to align software maturity and validation.
• Create and track release plans and testing activities for CI and field testing.
• Bring-up for autonomous vehicle builds and perform debugging, testing, verification.
