Job summary

Gatik is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Drive-By-Wire team in Santa Clara. You will build and improve chassis control software for common ECU hardware, ensuring functionally safe software per automotive standards and designing toolchains for seamless model-based deployment.

You will collaborate with requirements engineers to validate software maturity, manage release plans, and support test and verification activities across on-vehicle and simulation environments.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in automotive engineering, computer engineering, electronics/electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded automotive systems in ADAS/AD or vehicle chassis controls.
• Experience in developing and implementing full-time critical systems.
• Experience with ISO26262, MISRA-C, AUTOSAR, or similar.
• Experience in creating automated software generation toolchains.
• Experience with C programming and Simulink-based modeling using MATLAB.
• Experience with Vector CANalyzer, CANape, Kvaser, New Eagle Raptor CAL, V-box, ETAS INCA.
• Experience with vehicle CAN network and configurations, J1939, CAN FD, and automotive Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve chassis controls software for ECU hardware.
• Follow automotive safety standards to create functionally safe software.
• Design toolchains for model-based software on ECU firmware.
• Collaborate with requirements engineers to align software and requirements.
• Create and track software release plans and testing activities.
• Support bring-up, troubleshooting, testing, and verification of AV builds.
• Develop and implement test plans for on-vehicle and simulation testing.
• Evaluate AV components to meet safety and performance requirements.
• Debug issues found during testing with other engineers to improve system performance.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers for integration.
• Integrate software and hardware components for full vehicle system performance.
• Participate in tuning, calibration, triaging, in-vehicle testing, visualization, and post-processing of test data.
