Trillium Drivers is now seeking Autonomous Vehicle Test Operators with a CDL Class A license out of Houston, TX!

Pay rate is $30-34/hr plus per diem and hotel while traveling. Schedule will vary depending on route. Drivers will be out traveling 4-5 days, home 2-3 days. No weekends!

As an Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator, you'll play a critical role in testing next‑generation commercial vehicles by safely operating autonomous trucks while collecting valuable data that helps engineers improve self‑driving technology.

What You’ll Do
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles while strictly adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Execute structured driving routes and technical testing protocols to collect high‑quality operational data.
  • Work as part of a two‑person team, rotating between driving and passenger responsibilities.
  • Operate mission software, monitor real‑time vehicle performance, and document testing events.
  • Complete detailed pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, including verification of sensor calibrations and software readiness.
  • Identify and digitally tag roadway events such as construction zones, traffic patterns, or unusual driving conditions for engineering review.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of onboard hardware and software with remote engineering support.
  • Accurately document observations and provide detailed feedback regarding vehicle performance.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Interstate Class A CDL
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent commercial driving experience
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and all FMCSA qualification requirements
  • Clean driving record meeting company Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) standards
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting
  • Comfortable using laptops, tablets, and digital applications
  • Experience using Google Workspace
  • Experience working with Jira or similar ticket management systems preferred

  • Ability to operate in varying weather and road conditions, including urban, rural, interstate, and construction environments
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
