Job summary

Skyways is seeking a Systems Engineer to drive defined workstreams within aircraft development and integration projects. You will translate system needs into testable requirements, resolve interfaces, and verify hardware and software with cross-functional teams.

You will work independently on most tasks, applying established methods to progressively ambiguous problems and escalating blockers early to keep programs on track.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in aircraft systems, robotics, or related hardware/software products.
• Ability to deliver discrete workstreams independently within a larger project with consistent quality.
• Knowledge of requirements development, interface definitions, configuration control, and verification/validation.
• Troubleshoot across hardware and software boundaries with structured methods and test evidence.
• Clear technical writing: requirements, test procedures, reports, design-review feedback.
• Experience with hardware integration, instrumentation, and test equipment; executing procedures.
• Ability to analyze engineering data and automate repeatable analysis using Python or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop Requirements & Interfaces: Translate system needs into clear requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria; link to design decisions and verification evidence.
• Integrate Aircraft Systems: Resolve hardware/software interface issues; document test configurations.
• Plan & Execute Verification: Develop test procedures and support bench, simulation, ground, and flight testing; analyze results and document discrepancies.
• Investigate System Anomalies: Use logs/telemetry to reproduce problems and validate corrective actions.
• Deliver & Communicate: Plan work, track dependencies, deliver engineering documents and test results; raise risks and participate in reviews.
