Job summary

Skyways in Austin, Texas is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own aircraft systems workstreams from requirements definition through integration, verification, and closure.

You will coordinate across Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Flight Test, Manufacturing and Operations teams, lead architecture trade studies, and drive verification strategies while mentoring teammates and improving engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Experience owning end-to-end engineering workstreams.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong traceability, interface control, and verification experience.
• Mentor teammates and improve documentation and processes.
• Experience with cross-subsystem integration and engineering reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own Systems Workstreams: define scope, requirements, interfaces, verification plans and drive to closure.
• Lead analysis of architecture and interface choices; document recommendations and coordinate decisions.
• Set test approach, readiness criteria, and configuration baseline for your workstream; coordinate verification activities.
• Close gaps, anticipate dependencies, and drive measurable results with cross-team collaboration.
• Raise engineering capability by improving docs, reviews, and reusable methods; mentor others.
