Zipline's Software Integration Intern role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of robotics, embedded software, and systems engineering. You will work with Python, SQL, and data tools to support hardware integration, data-driven insights, and software testing for autonomy systems.

This in-person internship in South San Francisco emphasizes learning through real-world, safety-critical software integration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, CS, Robotics, or related fields.
• Familiarity with Python for scientific programming and basic libraries (NumPy, Pandas).
• Basic SQL for querying and working with data.
• Exposure to software development practices (Git, debugging, documentation).

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Modeling: analyze datasets from engineering systems to support predictive modeling.
• Data Visualization: design charts and dashboards using Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly or Tableau.
• Dashboard Development: maintain real-time dashboards tracking metrics and system performance.
• Data Engineering: assist in cleaning, preprocessing, and organizing data; write simple SQL queries.
• Machine Learning: assist with model development and validation for autonomy applications.
• Scientific Programming: develop small data pipelines and run simulations.
• Software Development: build scripts/tools to improve workflows and automation.
