Job summary

Zipline is seeking a System Validation Intern to contribute to testing Zipline’s complete system, spanning Zip, Droid, and Dock. You will help build automated pipelines and ensure software meets rigorous quality standards before flight testing.

Qualifications

• Completed the second year of undergraduate studies; Master’s and PhD students are eligible.
• Strong understanding of engineering design fundamentals and root-cause analysis.
• Experience writing Rust or Python scripts to automate tasks or tests.
• Hands-on experience writing Python tests using Pytest or Unittest.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests and flight tests.
• Collaborate with engineers to build and refine automated testing pipelines.
• Design and improve tools that stress-test the system in off-nominal cases.
• Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software issues uncovered during testing.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to design validation plans.
• Develop scripts and tools to support automated testing workflows.
• Learn to ensure reliability and quality in safety-critical systems.
