Job summary

DRT Strategies, Inc. seeks an Agentic AI Developer to design, build, and deploy autonomous AI agent systems driving efficiency across TAP programs. You will craft agents that operate with human oversight, integrate with enterprise systems, and improve risk management and ROI.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply prompt engineering, and stay ahead of evolving AI tools to deliver scalable solutions for federal-related initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience, with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML or LLM-based application development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building and deploying AI-powered applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
• Experience with prompt engineering techniques, including chain-of-thought, RAG.
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, pgvector).
• Understanding of responsible AI principles including transparency and human oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems using established frameworks (e.g., LangChain).
• Develop and refine prompt engineering strategies, including chain-of-thought, RAG, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Integrate AI agents with external tools, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems to enable agents to take meaningful, real-world actions.
• Build human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and escalation mechanisms for safe, accurate operation.
• Evaluate agent performance through testing, benchmarking, and iterative refinement; identify failure modes and improvements.
• Collaborate with program managers, subject matter experts, and clients to identify high-value AI automation opportunities.
• Document agent architectures, workflows, and SOPs to support knowledge transfer and compliance.
• Stay current on evolving agentic AI landscape; evaluate new models, tools, frameworks for applicability.
• Support other activities as directed by DRT Portfolio Manager.
