Job summary

V2X, Inc. is seeking personnel for an aircraft maintenance support role at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. The position follows a Collective Bargaining Agreement and involves prioritizing workloads and complying with aviation maintenance regulations.

Responsibilities include supplying materials to mechanics, equipment cleaning, and assisting flight line operations. A high school diploma, data-reading ability, and a valid state license are required; DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret data.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to obtain Government flight line driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic; assisting with lifting, holding, and cleaning duties.
• Cleans support equipment, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.
• Inflates tires, fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs, and greases support equipment.
• May assist flight line mechanic in servicing and repairing support equipment prior to use.
• Perform other job related duties as may be assigned.

Responsibilities

This is a CBA(Collective Bargaining Agreement) position.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance and ALSS.
• Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic, lifting and holdingmaterials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment.
• Cleans support equipment, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.
• Inflates tires, fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs, and greases support equipment, using grease gun.
• May assist flight line mechanic in servicing and repairing support equipment prior to use.

• Perform other job related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Possess a valid US State driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret data is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to obtain a Government flight line driver’s license.

Experience & Education

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years relevant experience performing or assisting functional duties under the oversite of more senior positions and one year experience performing functional duties independently.
• Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is desired.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
• May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weatherconditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work nearmoving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reachabove/below shoulders.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
• Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
• Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
• Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift,APU, etc.

  • Union Flex Benefit Credit:
