Kerr Industries, a Safe Fleet company, in Arlington, TX, is seeking full-time Automotive Installers for the day shift (6:00am to 2:30pm). Join a team that upfits police and emergency vehicles with wiring, controllers, bars, and partitions, using your automotive and electrical skills.

You will read schematics, work in an industrial setting, lift up to 50 pounds, and may do fieldwork or overtime. A valid driver’s license and a proactive, quality-focused mindset are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working and reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the new Automotive Installer will perform all upfitting tasks, which include but are not limited to:

• Installing all equipment necessary to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles. This includes routing and installing wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.
• Disassembling and reassembling factory vehicles
• Expected to read drawings, including electrical schematics with limited help.
• Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment that may require heavy physical duties. Work will involve frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping and kneeling.
• Fieldwork may be required at times as well as varying work hours.
• Some overtime may be required.
• Work independently, maintain accurate records, find efficiencies while respecting quality, and contributing ideas to the company.
• Supply own basic set of tools commonly used in the performance of automotive repair work. Time will be given to new employees to purchase these items after hire if required.
