The Kankakee Area Career Center is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Technology Instructor to lead our high school program. This role delivers dual credit curriculum in partnership with Kankakee Community College, preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce or further education.

The ideal candidate is a master of the craft who prioritizes safety, maintains a professional shop, and inspires students toward automotive careers.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate’s Degree in Auto Technology with 2,000 hours of professional employment in auto technology or 8,000 hours with verification of auto qualifications.
• Proficient with Google and/or Microsoft Office suite.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with 504/IEP accommodations and diverse learner needs.

Responsabilités

• Create course load for juniors and seniors.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Submit weekly lesson plans to Principal.
• Use effective teaching strategies for the subject matter.
• Modify instruction for diverse needs (504/IEP).
• Maintain safe, professional shop environment and student safety.
• Provide updated course syllabus for principal review.
• Plan activities and field trips to extend learning.
• Adhere to KACC grading policies and timely progress reporting.
• Maintain records for parent portal and communicate progress.
