Automotive Technician Wanted, Little Rock, AR

Donnie's Foreign Car Service, Inc. in Little Rock, AR is currently looking for ONE seasoned master technician. A long-time team member passed on, leaving a vacancy in this otherwise fully staffed shop. Donnie's has been in business for over 35 years and as shop foreman I have been associated with the shop for almost 31 years. No games, no drama. The pay plan is flat-rate and the income potential is outstanding for the right candidate. The job has challenges which I will openly discuss with a serious candidate. We're looking for someone with over 15 years experience, ideally with Asian or European vehicles. If you're into domestic trucks, there's a fair amount of that type of work as well. Ugh. We have a friendly, helpful atmosphere, but you must be somewhat self-reliant and capable of getting along with a bunch of mostly middle-aged men. If your technical skills aren't what you make them out to be, it'll be evident to everyone right away. If you're the right fit, you'll pretty quickly understand why there's rarely a job opening here. You don't have to know everything - nobody does - but you need to be able to learn in real time. You must be literate - if you're not, I'm not sure how you're working in this industry. You must be capable of using a Windows based computer and grasp how to employ a variety of diagnostic tools that the shop provides. You must have your own hand tools

We work M-F (NO WEEKENDS) from 7:30-5:30 and take a one hour lunch break and a couple of other short breaks as needed throughout the day. Paid vacation time is offered after the first year of employment - one week - and after year two and beyond - two weeks. The business tries to be flexible in terms of unpaid personal time. Insurance is available at a group rate, but is not paid by the shop.

You can't have addictions or bad habits that interfere with your work: no drugs, no drinking on the job or coming in hung over. Not smoking is a BIG plus. Cigarettes are a large part of why this position is currently open, if you get my drift. Please don't inquire if you've got a string of ex-wives / husbands that require 43 payroll deductions for child support and alimony. Also, if you're married to your phone, please divorce that thing immediately.
