Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate in West Point, VA to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability. You’ll work with a skilled team to tackle technical challenges across domestic and foreign models in a climate-controlled shop.

We offer ongoing training, advanced tools, and growth opportunities. The position features a new hire bonus up to $5,000 based on experience, with competitive hourly pay and a path to ASE certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications (A4, A5, A7, A6, A1, A3, A8, A2) where required by state/local law.
