Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Mechanical Associate in West Point, VA. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax’s safety and quality standards, working with a skilled team to restore performance across domestic and foreign vehicles.

The role offers ongoing training, modern tools, and a collaborative environment designed to help you grow. A new hire bonus up to $5,000 is available based on experience level and ASE credentials.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing engines, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ASE certifications (A4, A5, A7, A6, A1, A3, A8, A2) as required by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax’s high standards for quality and safety
• Collaborate with a skilled team to solve technical challenges quickly and effectively
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles
• Uphold CarMax’s commitment to customer satisfaction and trust
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
