Virginia Automotive Service on Jefferson Davis Highway in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Master Technician / A-Level Technician with a Virginia State Inspector License to perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles in a fast-paced, customer-focused shop.

Qualifications

• Master/A-level technician with Virginia State Inspector License
• ASE certifications preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional automotive repair experience
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Proven ability to mentor less-experienced technicians

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance concerns
• Diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems accurately and efficiently
• Repair engine performance, drivability, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, steering and suspension
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide repair recommendations
• Use diagnostic equipment and service information systems to identify and resolve issues
• Perform Virginia State Inspections in accordance with state requirements
• Mentor and assist less-experienced technicians
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with service advisors to deliver excellent customer experience

Requirements

TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance-related concerns
• Diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems accurately and efficiently
• Perform repairs including engine performance, drivability, electrical systems, steering and suspension, brakes, HVAC systems, cooling systems, and driveline components
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide accurate repair recommendations
• Utilize diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and service information systems to identify and resolve vehicle concerns
• Perform Virginia State Inspections in accordance with state requirements
• Mentor and assist less-experienced technicians as needed
• Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time while maintaining high productivity standards
• Document inspection findings, repair recommendations, and completed work accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with service advisors and management to deliver an exceptional customer experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Virginia State Inspector License required
• ASE Certifications strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional automotive repair experience
• Proven advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience with scan tools, oscilloscopes, and modern diagnostic equipment preferred
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume environment
