Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs comprehensive vehicle inspections, including Virginia State Safety Inspections, ensuring full compliance with state regulations
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues on gasoline and diesel vehicles
  • Utilizes advanced diagnostic tools, scan data, and testing procedures to accurately identify root causes
  • Performs repairs across multiple systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical, and emissions
  • Completes detailed Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) with clear documentation, photos, and recommendations
  • Collaborates with service advisors to communicate findings and support proper estimate building
  • Conducts test drives to verify concerns and confirm repairs
  • Maintains clean, organized work area and follows shop safety procedures
  • Keeps up to date with industry advancements, tools, and diagnostic strategies
  • Takes ownership of work quality and efficiency, ensuring jobs are completed correctly the first time
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Virginia State Safety Inspector License (not Required)
  • Strong diagnostic experience (high-level troubleshooting required)
  • Experience with both gasoline and diesel vehicles
  • Minimum 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Proficiency with scan tools, electrical testing, and modern vehicle systems
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus
