Job summary

AutoMed in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an experienced B-level automotive technician to join our team. This is not an entry-level or quick-lube role; you will inspect vehicles, identify needed repairs, and perform everyday mechanical work with accuracy and efficiency.

You’ll work on brakes, steering, suspension, cooling, belts, and drivability using Tekmetric for digital inspections, documenting findings with notes, photos, and videos.

• 3+ years of automotive repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to independently complete B-level mechanical repairs.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.

AutoMed has more repair work than our current technicians can complete, and we’re looking for an experienced B-level automotive technician to join our team.

This is not an entry-level or quick-lube position. We need a dependable technician who can independently inspect vehicles, identify needed repairs, and complete everyday mechanical work correctly and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform brakes, steering, and suspension repairs.
• Diagnose and repair cooling systems.
• Replace belts, hoses, wheel bearings, hubs, and CV axles.
• Diagnose starting and charging systems.
• Perform heating and air-conditioning repairs.
• Complete alignments and related repairs.
• Handle basic check-engine-light and drivability concerns.
• Perform thorough digital vehicle inspections using Tekmetric.
• Document findings clearly with notes, photographs, and videos.
• Complete general repairs on domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Test-drive vehicles and verify repairs before returning them to customers.

You Don’t Have to Diagnose Everything:

We already have an experienced A-level diagnostic technician for the most advanced problems. We need someone who can confidently handle B-level repairs, accurately identify needed work, use service information, and ask for assistance when appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least three years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.
• Ability to independently complete B-level mechanical repairs.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Your own professional hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Dependable attendance and consistent productivity.
• Strong digital inspection and documentation habits.
• Willingness to follow established repair and quality-control procedures.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work with a team.

Compensation:

Our pay plan is designed for a qualified B-level technician to earn approximately $1,200-$1,500+ per week. Final compensation will be based on experience, demonstrated ability, productivity, and quality of work. The complete pay plan will be explained openly during the interview process.
