Job summary

Auto Plus in Waldorf, MD is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician with leadership capabilities to diagnose drivability and electrical systems. The candidate will mentor teammates and educate customers on repairs and proposed solutions.

The role requires a State Inspection License, 3+ years of experience, and ASE certifications. A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work variable hours are essential. Training and certifications are company-supported.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State Inspection License required.
• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license applicable.
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform duties of all lower Technician roles.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive technology in training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing activities.
• Inform management of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and follow policies and safety rules.
