Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician I for an entry-level role. The position focuses on high-quality vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs for customers.

The role may involve working independently or in a team, with an emphasis on cost and time management. The candidate should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of vehicle service and repair experience (customer service experience preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
• 1+ years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to work days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must continue training to maintain status and to meet with technology and fleet changes as they occur.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, battery replacement, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
• Performs some repairs and diagnostics.
• Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, electrical systems, interior/exterior components, engine and drive-line components, etc.
• Keep the shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
• Inspection must be completed at a higher standard.
• Ability to work independently, and self-driven.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
