Job summary

The City of Peoria Public Works has an excellent opportunity for an Automotive Technician I in the Fleet Division. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of automotive and heavy equipment.

Depending on assignment, this may include specialized vehicles such as fire pumpers and aerial trucks. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and completing related tasks as needed to ensure the City’s fleet

Qualifications

• Background in automotive maintenance.
• Experience with light or heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
• Ability to balance productivity with quality.
• Desire to learn and work in a team environment.
