Job summary

Carter Myers Automotive in the Richmond region is seeking an Automotive Technician with 3+ years of experience to diagnose and repair Hyundai and Kia vehicles, tackle advanced diagnostics, electrical and drivability work, plus engine/transmission, brakes, suspension, steering and HVAC maintenance.

You'll use CDK and current scan tools, document findings for service advisors, and have opportunities in hybrid/EV work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive repair experience as a technician or mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with import vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Automotive Technician – Hyundai & Kia | 3+ Years Experience | Richmond Region

$20–$55 Per Flat Rate Hour · Employee-Owned · Climate-Controlled Shop

Compensation

• $20.00–$55.00 per flat rate hour (based on experience and certification level)

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

The Work

You'll diagnose and repair Hyundai and Kia vehicles — advanced diagnostics, electrical and drivability troubleshooting, engine and transmission work, brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC. Plus factory-recommended maintenance and multi-point inspections.

You'll work in CDK, document your findings clearly for the service advisors, and use current scan tools and factory repair information. If you want hybrid and EV work, we have it — Ioniq, Tucson Hybrid, Sportage Hybrid, and EV6 all come through this shop.

Requirements

What you need:

• 3+ years of automotive repair experience as a technician, service technician, diagnostic technician, or mechanic
• Solid diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with import vehicles
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

What helps:

• Hyundai or Kia dealership experience and factory certification
• ASE certifications — A-series or Master
• Virginia State Inspection license
• ADAS calibration and hybrid/EV experience
• CDK experience
