Carter Myers Automotive in Richmond Region is seeking an Automotive Technician with 3+ years of Hyundai & Kia experience. You’ll diagnose and repair vehicles, handling electrical and drivability issues, engine and transmission work, brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC, plus routine maintenance and inspections.

Work in a climate-controlled shop with up-to-date factory tooling and scanners. We offer full benefits, Hyundai and Kia factory training paid for, and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan

Qualifications

3+ years of automotive repair experience as a technician or mechanic.
Solid diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience with import vehicles and Hyundai/Kia brands.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair Hyundai and Kia vehicles, incl. electrical and drivability issues.
Perform engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering and HVAC work.
Complete factory-recommended maintenance and multi-point inspections.
Document findings for service advisors and use scan tools.

Compensation

$20.00–$55.00 per flat rate hour (based on experience and certification level)

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

The Work

You'll diagnose and repair Hyundai and Kia vehicles — advanced diagnostics, electrical and drivability troubleshooting, engine and transmission work, brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC. Plus factory-recommended maintenance and multi-point inspections.

You'll work in CDK, document your findings clearly for the service advisors, and use current scan tools and factory repair information. If you want hybrid and EV work, we have it — Ioniq, Tucson Hybrid, Sportage Hybrid, and EV6 all come through this shop.

What you need

3+ years of automotive repair experience as a technician, service technician, diagnostic technician, or mechanic
Solid diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with import vehicles
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
