Job summary

Group 1 Toyota Bowie, part of Group 1 Automotive, is seeking an Experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Bowie, MD. You will perform repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance in a high-volume shop with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, conducting tests, road-testing vehicles, and communicating progress to service advisors while upholding company standards and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• ASE certification(s) or related area preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology
• Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening

Compensation: The pay for this position is $18.00 - $45.00/an hour based on experience.
