Job summary

The United States Postal Service in Baltimore is hiring 30 Automotive Technicians for full-time roles. The position offers an annual salary of $66,836, with medical and dental benefits, and the opportunity to work on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license required.
Experience diagnosing and repairing automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, fuel and emissions systems.
Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment, scanners, multimeters and testing tools.
Ability to perform engine tune-ups, preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections.
Ability to repair or replace major components including transmissions and brakes.
Ability to troubleshoot breakdowns and identify mechanical and electrical problems.
Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams and instructions.
Ability to maintain repair records and document maintenance.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles in a fast-paced setting.
Use computerized diagnostic equipment, scanners, multimeters and testing tools.
Perform engine tune-ups, preventive maintenance and inspections.
Repair or replace major automotive components including transmissions and brakes.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and document work performed.
