Responsibilities

• Diagnoses operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles, including emissions systems and electrical or electronic components.
• Performs computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment; interprets trouble codes and refers to service manuals/wiring schematics.
• Conducts visual and auditory vehicle inspections, road calls and road tests before and after maintenance; annotates problems on work orders.
• Provides technical guidance to mechanics on difficult repairs and in the use of specialized computer-aided diagnostic equipment.
• Performs maintenance and repairs resulting from normal preventive maintenance inspections.
• Prepares and updates vehicle records, logs labor time, parts and equipment on work orders.
