Job summary

AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care in the United States is seeking a General Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair a broad range of vehicle systems. You will remove and reinstall transmissions and support fellow technicians while explaining issues to service writers.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years’ experience, own professional tools and hold a valid driver’s license. Brakes, A/C, drivability testing and safe shop practices are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a General Automotive Technician
• Valid driver’s license required
• Own professional grade tools
• Proficient in brakes, tune ups, A/C and general repairs
• Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, including drivability testing
• Safe handling of shop tools and equipment

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems
• Remove and Reinstall Transmission systems
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques
• Record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated
