Job summary

Dearth Automotive in Monroe is seeking an Automotive Mechanic/Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate has automotive experience, strong communication and customer service skills, and a valid driver s license.

ASE certifications are a plus, with the ability to work 8-10 hour days and lift heavy objects as needed. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems, test driving to verify serviceability, maintaining records, and communicating with customers and service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; technical degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience in the automotive field.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid drivers license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies.
• Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical).
• Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with up-to-date information.
• Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Maintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
