Dearth Automotive in Monroe is seeking an Automotive Mechanic/Technician to perform repairs and diagnostics with efficiency, following dealership policies. You will test systems, service vehicles, and ensure compliance with state standards.

Ideal candidates have automotive experience, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused approach. A high school diploma or technical training is required, with ASE certifications a plus and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to provide personal tools.
  • Ability to work 8–10 hour days, overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical).
  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives.
  • Comply with state vehicle requirements and safety standards.
  • Communicate with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed.
  • Maintain vehicle records of service and repairs.
  • Execute repairs under manufacturer specifications and warranty.
  • Keep shop supplies stocked and inventory up to date.
  • Maintain shop equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

This position is ideal for an individual with previous automotive experience, excellent communication skills, and excellent customer service skills. This is a great opportunity to join a progressive work environment and a growing dealer group!Responsibilities:Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policiesTest components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipmentDiagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical)Primary Duties:Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systemsComplies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standardsCommunicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with the most up to date informationMaintain vehicle records by recording service and repairsExecute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specificationsKeep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receiptMaintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and preforming preventive maintenanceOther duties as assignedRequirements:High School Diploma; Technical degree in related field is preferredPrevious experience in the automotive fieldASE certifications is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsValid driver’s license or the ability to obtain oneAble to provide personal toolsAbility to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elementsAbility to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime hours as neededAbility to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
