Job summary

Herbert Automotive is looking for a capable Technician C to perform brakes, rotors, oil changes, transmission service, and related maintenance. You will explain maintenance needs to customers and complete tasks to factory standards while upholding safety and housekeeping.

The role includes on-site work with an hourly pay and commission typical across the company. The position requires at least two years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and any applicable state certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
• Valid Driver's License
• State Emission Certification (if applicable)
• State Vehicle Inspector Certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with supervisory direction and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Partner with the Center Manager if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended. Road tests vehicles as needed.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies management of any damage.
• Keeps the shop areas neat, clean and organized.
• Maintains and is accountable for all store-owned tools and manuals.
• Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.).
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner; reports safety issues to management.
• Participates in organization-sponsored training programs.
• Other tasks as assigned.
