Job summary

Kiavets in Tinton Falls, NJ, is looking for Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the role of Automotive Service Technician. This position is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), designed to help Veterans transition into the automotive industry. Participants will gain valuable hands-on experience and training while working full-time at a participating Kia dealership. The program is GI Bill approved and offers a Monthly Housing Allowance.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.
• Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Communicate with service advisors to ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Mechanical or technical field experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver's license with a clean record
