Group 1 Automotive is seeking an Automotive Service Technician at our Mobile, AL dealership. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to dealer and manufacturer standards, with access to industry-leading training and state-of-the-art equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician or mechanic experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• ASE certification or OEM certification preferred.
• Excellent customer service and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs following dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and ETA.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology.
• Uphold company values in interactions with customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional appearance and work ethic
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
