Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automotive Equipment & Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vehicle lifts, pumps, tanks, and related equipment across the Milwaukee area.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in field service or related trades, with strong mechanical aptitude and customer-focused communication. Travel within the territory and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Automotive Equipment & Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vehicle lifts, fluid dispensing systems, pumps, tanks, reels, and related equipment at customer locations throughout the Milwaukee area. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and providing exceptional customer service in the field. The successful candidate will have experience in field service, equipment maintenance, automotive equipment repair, or skilled trades such as plumbing, pipefitting, construction, or manufacturing maintenance. This role offers extensive training, company-provided equipment, and strong long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and commission vehicle lifts, pumps, tanks, reels, fluid dispensing systems, and related equipment
• Install air, fluid, and industrial piping systems
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures at customer sites
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Communicate findings, solutions, and recommendations directly with customers
• Complete service reports, work orders, timecards, expense reports, and inventory documentation
• Track parts usage and maintain accurate inventory records
• Maintain company vehicle inventory, tools, and organization
• Collaborate with technical teams and management to resolve equipment performance issues
• Attend technician meetings and training sessions
• Travel throughout the assigned service territory to support customers

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of field service, equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, or related experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to obtain a Health Card
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in one or more of the following trades: Plumbing, Pipefitting, Carpentry, Construction, Manufacturing Maintenance, Automotive Equipment Service
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using technology for communication, work orders, and service documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience installing, servicing, and repairing vehicle lifts
• Experience with Rotary Lift equipment
• Hydraulic systems experience
• Fluid dispensing, lubrication, or pump system experience
• Tank, reel, and industrial piping installation experience
• Preventative maintenance experience
• Manufacturing maintenance background
• CDL
• Experience using mobile field service applications or electronic work-order systems
