Job summary

SONS Chevrolet is seeking a certified Express Technician to join our team in Columbus, GA. You will perform dealer-standard repairs, test-drive vehicles, and diagnose engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, brakes, and A/C using diagnostic tools.

We offer a temperature-controlled shop, a supportive culture, and opportunities for career advancement with manufacturer-sponsored training. A valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in basic car care helpful but not required.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to thrive in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment checks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute repair orders efficiently and to dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using tools.
• Repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate estimates and needs to the Service Advisor.
• Carry out warranty repairs per manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Execute work specified on repair orders efficiently and in line with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and assess components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional services needed, providing estimates for extra repairs.
• Carry out warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year or more of experience in basic car care is helpful but not required.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a desire to build long-term trust and relationships with customers.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
