Hunter Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician with dealership experience to join our service department. If you have strong diagnostic skills and pride in quality workmanship, we want to hear from you.

This role offers a $5,000 bonus opportunity and ongoing training within a fourth-generation family-owned automotive group. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, follow manufacturer procedures, and collaborate with service advisors to keep repairs

Qualifications

• Previous automotive dealership technician experience required.
• 1-2 years main shop experience.
• ASE certifications and/or manufacturer training preferred.
• Own tools required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex automotive repairs.

What You'll Do

Diagnostics & Repairs

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex automotive repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Complete vehicle inspections and identify additional repair needs.
• Follow manufacturer procedures and recommended repair standards.

Quality & Productivity

• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Verify completed repairs and help ensure vehicles are safe and road-ready.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate additional concerns when needed.

Teamwork & Safety

• Work closely with Service Advisors and fellow technicians to keep repairs moving efficiently.
• Communicate diagnostic findings and repair recommendations clearly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow dealership safety procedures and participate in ongoing technical training.

What We're Looking For

• Previous automotive dealership technician experience is required.
• 1-2 years of main shop automotive technician experience.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
• Electrical diagnostic experience is a plus.
• ASE certifications and/or manufacturer training are highly preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership service department.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must have your own professional set of tools.
