Job Description

About the Role:

The Technician role can be full-time or part-time, with hourly pay based on business needs. Responsibilities include conducting basic vehicle diagnostics, performing routine repairs and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional 5-star service through effective communication and meeting guest expectations for time and quality.

The hourly rate ranges from minimum wage up to $38.50, with potential additional compensation and incentives based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
• Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services, and auditing inspections by General Service Technicians.
• Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, and stocking inventory.
• Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it is guest-ready.
• Perform services in accordance with safety standards, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
• Test drive vehicles following Monro’s Road Test policy, adhering to traffic and safety laws.
• Follow company policies, governmental standards, and safety protocols.
• Maintain technical knowledge through completion of Monro University training courses.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive training or equivalent experience.
• ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
• Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Profile Summary:

• Ability to perform basic automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and tire services.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret instructions and write routine reports.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Work occurs in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Must be able to work flexible hours, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
