Overview:

Big O Automotive Technicians diagnose, recommend, and perform automotive repairs accurately and efficiently, following all company policies and procedures. Technician levels are based on ASE certifications:

• Automotive Technician A – 4 or more ASE Certifications
• Automotive Technician B – 1-3 ASE Certifications
• Automotive Technician C – No ASE Certifications

Responsibilities

• Perform brake, front end, alignment, and mechanical maintenance according to company standards
• Diagnose and repair customer vehicles, ensuring quality control
• Train and mentor other employees as directed
• Maintain smooth workflow and customer service quality
• Provide Big O’s Extra Care Services to customers
• Participate in weekly store meetings on safety, policies, and updates
• Work with management to meet service and sales goals
• Ensure accurate documentation for all work completed
• Utilize company purchasing programs for profitability
• Complete required technician training timely
• Execute vehicle inspection programs consistently
• Achieve service, sales, and productivity targets
• Handle adjustments and core credits efficiently
• Perform other duties as assigned in line with company policies

Job Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Minimum two years of experience as a lube/tire/service technician
• Current Motor Vehicle Inspection License (if applicable)
• Ability to learn technical materials and new concepts
• Proficient in operating computers and office machinery
• Safe operation of automatic and manual vehicles
• Effective communication with customers
• Willingness to work with hazardous materials and outdoor conditions
• Compliance with PPE regulations
• Good sensory abilities (vision, hearing, speech, odors)
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds
• Valid driver’s license
• Availability for holidays, weekends, and after-hours work
• Proficiency in English
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• Over two years of automotive shop experience
• ASE certifications
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
