Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking a USPS Contract Training Instructor to deliver technical training for USPS employees at NCED. The role spans classroom, laboratory, and virtual settings, focusing on electrical systems and safety and requiring strong instructional skills and clear communication.

You will train and mentor learners, develop and update training materials, and ensure course objectives are met while maintaining safe operations and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engine diagnostics for light delivery vehicles.
• Knowledge of adult education and training principles.
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following procedures.
• Ability to condense complex information and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to instruct adults with varied backgrounds in complex subjects.
• Ability to plan and schedule activities, manage time, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to counsel others to improve performance.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
• Ability to stimulate interactive discussion and engage learners.

Responsibilities

• Instruct USPS training courses in classroom, laboratory, virtual, and field environments.
• Use training equipment, facilities, and resources to deliver approved programs.
• Manage training activities to meet course objectives within the scheduled time.
• Serve as SME in the design and maintenance of training courses and materials.
• Assist with development of new training and revision of existing programs.
• Maintain knowledge bases by reviewing SOPs and vendor materials and attending trainings.
• Prepare materials and submit requisitions for parts and equipment.
• Evaluate student performance and address learning obstacles.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed for staff and students.
